I recently had a brief stay at Holston Valley Medical Center for a complete knee replacement.
From the time I was admitted into the surgery center, until my release to go home, my stay at Holston Valley was great. Everyone I came into contact with was very professional and had a very caring bedside manner.
The nurses (Sarah and Shirley) on duty during my stay were absolutely amazing. They showed true concern for my comfort, and I only had to wait a few minutes when I called for anything, whether it was pain meds or going to the restroom.
Nurses who utilize compassionate behaviors can help foster feelings in the patient that both the nurse and patient are working toward the best possible outcome.
I wanted to let everyone know there are some great employees at Holston Valley, and they really care for their patients. These days that is a rare find – I think these employees should be commended for their compassion for their patients.
Also, the physical therapy department was amazing and assured me I was going to be just fine. I know there are people that just say words to get the result they want, but I assure you these workers are genuine and caring individuals, and I am thankful for each and every one of them.
A huge thank-you to each and every one of you who took care of me during my stay.
