Janie Tabor Promoted to Director of Surgical Services at Mountain View Regional, Lonesome Pine

Janie Tabor, who offers more than 10 years of health care experience, has been promoted to director of surgical services at
Mountain View Regional Medical Center and
Lonesome Pine Hospital.
In this role, she will oversee the array of surgeries available at Wellmont Health System’s two community hospitals in Virginia. She will collaborate with skilled surgeons and other physicians who practice with
Wellmont Medical Associates, as well as members of the hospitals’ medical staffs who serve in independent practices.
“Janie’s track record of success and leadership will be a tremendous asset to our surgical team,” said Dale Clark, president of both hospitals. “Her strong clinical judgment and vast knowledge of surgical procedures will allow her to excel in providing patients with superior health care. We look forward to watching her partner with our physicians and other medical professionals to further advance our quality of care.”
Tabor, a registered nurse, has been a Wellmont co-worker since 2007. She previously served as a clinical nurse educator at
Bristol Regional Medical Center for 2½ years, and received the hospital’s 2016 Nurse Educator of the Year award.
Earlier in her tenure at Bristol Regional, she served as a nurse during cardiovascular surgeries and played an integral role in other general and specialty surgeries. She was a nurse intern and a patient care technician at the start of her medical career.

Tabor earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from East Tennessee State University. She is certified to perform and instruct pediatric life support, advanced cardiac life support and basic life support classes through the American Heart Association. She is also certified as an operating room nurse by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses.
