Janie Tabor, who offers more than 10 years of health care experience, has been promoted to director of surgical services at Mountain View Regional Medical Center and Lonesome Pine Hospital.

In this role, she will oversee the array of surgeries available at Wellmont Health System’s two community hospitals in Virginia. She will collaborate with skilled surgeons and other physicians who practice with Wellmont Medical Associates, as well as members of the hospitals’ medical staffs who serve in independent practices.

“Janie’s track record of success and leadership will be a tremendous asset to our surgical team,” said Dale Clark, president of both hospitals. “Her strong clinical judgment and vast knowledge of surgical procedures will allow her to excel in providing patients with superior health care. We look forward to watching her partner with our physicians and other medical professionals to further advance our quality of care.”

Tabor, a registered nurse, has been a Wellmont co-worker since 2007. She previously served as a clinical nurse educator at Bristol Regional Medical Center for 2½ years, and received the hospital’s 2016 Nurse Educator of the Year award.

“The opportunity to serve our organization at a greater capacity while working alongside highly respected medical professionals is truly a privilege,” Tabor said. “Together we can ensure patients in Southwest Virginia receive the highest quality care possible should they need surgery.”
